FBI Director James Comey said on Wednesday at Capitol Hill Hillary Clinton aide Huma Abedin forward email to her estranged husband, for congressman Anthony Weiner.
Those email were including “Classified Information” Comey told a senate judiciary committee”
Sen. John Kennedy, R-La., asked Comey how classified information got on Weiner’s computer, something the FBI learned last October.
“His then-spouse, Huma Abedin, appears to have had a regular practice of forwarding emails to him for him, I think, to print out for her so she could then deliver them to the Secretary of State [Clinton],” Comey replied.
According to New York Post reporting, Comey couldn’t say definitively whether Weiner read the classified documents, believed to primarily have been emails.
Comey confirmed the FBI investigated Abedin, but concluded she did nothing criminally wrong.
“With respect to Ms. Abedin in particular we didn’t have any indication that she had a sense what she was doing was in violation of the law – couldn’t prove any criminal intent,” he told the Senators.
